Three Arts Club - please help it return

This is the Three Arts Club Tearoom.  We often sat in here to study, reflect, and dream about grand possibilities.   The possibility of which we now dream is that the Three Arts Club will once again be returned to its rightful use as a home and club for women in the arts.  Please add your comments and please take the survey.

  1. The Three Arts Club is imbued with the spirit of women in the arts. The building should be filled with creative women.

  2. Get their IRS Form 990 and check to see where
the money has gone. It will give salarys for
the directors and executive director. Have
there been any unusually large salarys paid?

  3. This looks like a beautiful historic building--is there a government agency to help save it and restore it? I've read about many other buildings being saved via this agency or group. I hope the Three Arts Club can be saved and used for its original purpose. It would be a fine addition to Chicago!

  4. Oh my Goodness! I'm SHOCKED to see the beautiful Three Arts Club now empty! I remember the long table in the tearoom...I used to cut out patterns and my clothing designs there in the evening hours. I'm SO saddened...

  6. it would be great to once and for all end the three arts club, the debates the everything included with it anymore...

(it won't reopen as a dorm this is obvious)

it would be great if the three arts club was sold

    and demolished

(even 3arts other org. not to be funded from any of the past present current revenues and also dissolved)

    thank you
    kindly,

I was privileged to live in The three Arts Club in 1958 and 1959, while attending Goodman Theatre. It offered a gracious, safe and beautiful haven and environment for women studying one of the arts in Chicago. I went to sleep to the sound of pianos practicing and woke to the lilting scales of the opera students warming their voices in the early morning hours. It was a home away from home, tastefully furnished and filled with exceptional women. The meals were served as though we were in a fine restaurant. We were safe within those walls and free to create and find companionship in a strange place, for Chicago was a new place for most of the residents. It must be saved and restored. Not only is it a significant thread of the history of Chicago, it offers a unique place to live for women studying the arts in the Chicago area.
